Training Nourishminds


Nourishminds is a premier training hub. Our training programs are informed by our vast experience with the various issues that our clients have successfully navigated over the years, coupled with high quality training expertise.

Psychologically unhealthy individuals cannot form a healthy and productive workplace. We go beyond cliches like ‘increased productivity’ and ‘team building’ to create an understanding of the invisible dynamics at play when people are working together.

NourishMinds’ Built-to-Suit programs are tailor-made for each client, taking into account the specific goals and culture of the company. Typically, a needs assessment will be conducted on the intended audience, and the training topic with the highest average score will be chosen. The team’s needs can be better met through customized training by first identifying the difficulties and/or obstacles that are affecting the group as a whole and then designing training specifically to address those concerns. 

We provide both one-on-one and group sessions (typically through Employee Assistance Programs- EAPs) to ensure that our clients receive the best possible care. Our approach addresses an array of life challenges before they become unmanageable distractions.

MSC guided and Trauma-informed Therapy

MSC stands for Mindfulness and Self-Compassion. Mindfulness is the first step toward emotional healing. It is being able to turn toward and acknowledge difficult thoughts and feelings with openness and curiosity. Self-compassion is a response to these difficult thoughts and feelings with loving kindness and understanding, to console and comfort ourselves in these moments of hurt and pain. Self-compassion improves emotional wellbeing by reducing anxiety and depression, boosting feelings of joy and happiness, and sticking to life goals. Combining Mindfulness and Self-compassion leads to more ease and well-being in our daily lives.

Trauma-informed therapy assumes that the client is more likely than not to have experienced trauma in the course of his/her lifetime. The benefit of this approach is that trauma screening is embedded in the therapeutic process; wholesome healing is more likely to be achieved.

We are introducing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as an approach to trauma healing.

Coaching programmes

Coaching is generally a shorter and straightforward engagement between a client and a coach that is focused on specific developmental issues. It is a directive process with specific deliverables that include SMART objectives and frequent evaluation to measure the attainment of those objectives. The client is more directly involved in the outcomes for coaching sessions than he/she would for therapy. For instance, missed sessions and assignments will have a direct bearing on progress than in mainstream therapy sessions.

Sometimes, roadblocks in achieving goals for coaching could be rooted in intrapersonal and interpersonal dynamics that would be better addressed in a therapy setting. The advantage of working with Nourishminds is that this need would seamlessly be met inhouse.

Research suggests that good quality nutrition is crucial to the management and prevention of mental health problems. Moreover, poor physical health leads to poor mental health. Unfortunately, this remains an underestimated and under-researched area. Nourishminds seeks to remedy this situation by bringing in knowledge and expertise from trusted sources and breaking it down to applicability in our clients’ lives.

This is a specialized area of therapy that employs a systemic approach to understanding family dynamics. Therapy is conducted within the context of the principles of marriage and family systems.

Developmental trauma is rooted in the home environment. Broken people raise broken people because they unconsciously replicate their experiences from their childhoods. We are the embodiment of our early childhood experiences. Awareness of this should inspire us to resolve any unfinished business from our past so that we can be intentional about the environment we create in our homes. By addressing the gaps in the family systems, we can ensure that children are spared from having to live and grapple with the aftermath of a traumatic childhood.

Supervision is the gatekeeper for mental health professions. Through supervision, clients’ welfare is safeguarded because the supervisor ensures that the supervisee (practitioner) is upholding the required professional standards.
